ALL ABOUT VACATION CARE
We provide Vacation Care during the school holidays, to cater for children of the Maroubra and wider community. Vacation Care is packed with exciting activities such as excursions, incursions and theme days. Our program aims to keep the children entertained, try develop new experiences and skills.

During Vacation Care we operate from 7am - 6pm
PROGRAM
Vacation care days can either be:
- In Centre days where all activities are run by MJCC educators.
- Incursion days where activities are run by visitors.
- Excursion days where we take the children to a venue either by hire bus or public transport.
* Risk assessments for each day can be requested for family viewing.
Vacation Care fees are charged at a flat $67 fee per day including all excursion and activity costs. The Child Care Subsidy (CCS) is applied to all attendance costs incurred.
Annual new family enrolment fee $65
Annual existing re-enrolment fee $55
Non attendance must be advised within 24hours or the daily fee will be applied, if the spot can't be filled. We roster our educators according to our booking numbers.
PRIORITY OF ACCESS
BOOKING PROCESS
To book a place for Vacation Care, you must complete our annual online enrolment (SmartCentral) form then the ONLY way to book the days you require is from the online vacation care booking form (Microsoft Form), not through SmartCentral.
Families have to fill in the online booking form before the closing date which will be stated on the program.
Once we've processed all forms according to the priority of access guidelines, families will receive a Compliance Written Arrangement (CWA - booking confirmation) with the confirmed days.
No cancellation can be made after the closing date. Families will be charged their booking if they do cancel after this date. In the instance we have children on a waiting list and we can replace your booking from the list, the booking will be cancelled free of charge.
Any cancellations within 24hr of your booked vacation care day, you'll be charged.
MJCC intends to cater for all families requiring care, and where possible, will source the extra spaces required to enable acceptance of all families. Sometimes, there may be waiting lists for childcare services and to ensure the system is fair, to see the criteria please see our policy page.
MJCC VACATION CARE HATS
MEAL TIMES
We cater to the nutritional needs of the children, foster good eating habits, and take into consideration cultural requirements and children with food allergies.
Please pack your child a healthy lunch, snacks and water bottle unless stated within the daily program.
We provide a nutritious breakfast (between 7am - 8:15am) and a variety of afternoon tea recipes (between 3pm - 3.30pm) during vacation care. A platter of fresh in season fruits & vegetables is always offered.
PROPERTY & PERSONAL BELONGINGS
MJCC educators are not responsible for any property that children bring from home. If it's precious think carefully before sending it.
Mobile phones and mobile watches are strongly discouraged. They must be switched to 'school mode'. They must be off and away and if found using the devices they will kept in the office until the end of the day.
We have a hat policy aimed at protecting all children attending our service during vacation care. The hat enables us to meet the standards for adequate sun protection and improves visibility of children for educators whilst they're out on excursion.
For new year enrolments a hat is included in the fee. For Spring Vacation Care enrolments, or Term 4 (reduced pro rate fee) a hat must be purchased at $15.
Any lost hats must be replaced and will incur a fee of $24 for brand new hat or $10 for secondhand hat.
If your child/ren don't bring their hat during a vacation care day they won't be able to attend the excursion and/or you will be charged for a replacement hat (if in stock).
